About La Ventana and El Sargento, BCS

Situated on the eastern coast of Baja California Sur, the area known as La Ventana encompasses the twin towns of La Ventana and El Sargento, often with seamlessly blending boundaries. La Ventana lies at the southern end of the Bay of La Ventana, directly bordering El Sargento to the north. Conveniently accessible, the region is less than an hour's drive south of La Paz International Airport and approximately 2 ½ hours from Los Cabos International Airport.

The appeal of El Sargento is growing quickly, drawing attention for its quieter beaches, serene neighborhoods, and unparalleled access to superb single-track mountain biking and hiking. A significant benefit, particularly during the winter months when the northerly winds dominate, is that El Sargento offers a more sheltered environment compared to the Ventana Beach areas, where the "El Norte" winds can be relentless throughout the day.

While La Ventana remains a world-renowned kitesurfing and wingfoiling destination, attracting a significant influx of enthusiasts each winter (November to March, when the northerly "El Norte" winds fill the afternoons with colorful sails), the area now draws an equal number of visitors year-round for yoga, hiking, and mountain biking, particularly during the fall, winter, and early summer. Mountain bikers from across North America are discovering the challenging and rewarding single-track trails.

Furthermore, the sport fishing off the shores of La Ventana and El Sargento is exceptional nearly year-round, with an abundance of Tuna, Mahi-Mahi (Dorado), and Wahoo (Ono) found just 20-30 minutes offshore.

Overall, La Ventana and El Sargento have evolved into a premier Baja destination, offering a diverse range of activities amidst a stunning landscape where dramatic desert scenery, dotted with impressive Cardon cacti forests, meets the vibrant blue Sea of Cortez.
